wanted to head down to china town today.
but the weather does not permit.

rain rain go away come again another day....

anyway, i am finally done sorting the thailand pics...
yes, i know it has been more than a week since i came back.
but better late than never right...

Bangkok 24th - 27th February
somehow, this trip to bangkok was not as enjoyable as compared to the previous one.

touched down from COK on the 24th @ 7am
head back home, bathed and changed
got ready and left house at 10am for the airport again...

all set to head back to the airport...

though i swore that i will never take tiger again, i still took it for its irresistible price

and since i get to be on the plane almost every other day, i let BF have my usual window seat.
besides, i was too tired to look out of the window.

touched down @ Suvarnabhumi Airport

BF and i always take pictures on the plane to kill time
however, this time we only took 2 pics, cos i spent the 2 hours on the plane catching my precious beauty sleep.

all energised to go shopping!!!

me and bf's mum
(my shopping companion for the few days)

took a cab to baiyoke boutique hotel, freshen up and immediately head out for shopping!!!
though i admit i'm dead tired, but seeing all those clothes makes me awake again...

while walking towards platinum mall, bf spotted this baby elephant and insisted on wasting 100baht to feed and take pic with this baby elephant...

the elephant lover...

after shopping we went to suan lum night baazar for dinner.
besides us having dinner, the mosquitos there were also feasting on my feet..

poor me with 8 mosquito bites which refuse to go off for the whole trip...
super itchy la =(

by the way, suan lum has changed very much since my last visit.
many shops has closed and its much quiter than last time.

DAY 2

woke up at 7am for breakfast and went to the floating market.
if any of u are going to bangkok soon, and wants to visit the floating market,
pls visit the main one - dumnoen saduak
(the one out of bangkok)

there are some floating markets in bangkok too, but they are not as lively as this one.

and if u want to go there on a budget, book the tours directly in bangkok, or get a taxi driver in bangkok to drive you there. saves u at least $30 - $40 per person.

this floating market starts business at 7am, and quietens down at about 12 noon.

many many boats, many many tourists..

one of the nicer houses at the floating market

i'm always ready for a picture..

uncle joined me...
but bf's mum is still not ready...
bf's mum is not so much of a cam-whore...

hahahahhahha...

bf and i snapping away...
bf is quite a cam-whore...

nice hats??

and this pic with that hat makes me look so......
gentle???
hmmm... i must seriously consider getting a hat like this...

bf found a pet at the floating market...

stopped along the river to visit a temple

and a monk helped us take this 2 pictures...

we left the floating market at about 11am, had the very nice taxi uncle, to drive us back to bangkok, to visit wat po...

temple of the reclining buddha
i've been to wat po at least 3 times that i think i can be a tour guide there...
hahahahhaha....

one of the great spots to take a picture since the whole statue can be seen...

dropping coins into these bowls, making wishes =)
i made so many wishes that i forgot what i did or did not wish for...

at one of the exits of wat po...

throughout my 4 days there, the weather in bangkok was scotching HOT!!!

a coconut drink to cool down...

after wat po, we visited the grand palace.

and let me tell u this..
do not believe any tour guides, tuk tuk drivers, taxi drivers or ppl along the road that tells you that the grand palace is closed for today / only open to thais because its buddhist day / only opens at 3.30pm or other nonsense.

they are totally trying to be funny!!!
cos all of these nonsense are not true. do some research and u will know that the grand palace is open to everyone including tourist from 8.30am - 3.30pm daily...

but you must enter from the main entrance.

this is my first time visiting the grand palace though i did plan on visit it on my past trips to bangkok...

stupid ppl...

outside the place which houses the emerald buddha...

pictures are not allowed inside. hence, bf zoomed zoomed and zoomed and manage to take this is a very blur picture of the emerald buddha

saw many ppl doing this after they visited the temple.
so i monkey see monkey do lo...
hahahahhahaahha...

finally the grand palace...

disturbing the no movement guards...

and just ignore me in this funny outfit...
if u don't want to end up like me in pictures, do dress properly when u plan to visit the grand palace...

*Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves (no tank tops. If you're wearing sandals or flip-flops you must wear socks (in other words, no bare feet.) Women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes, bare shoulders*

adding to that, no leggings too...

wanted to head on over to wat arun (the temple of dawn) after the grand palace.
but it was too hot, and everyone felt uncomfortable after a day of perspiring.

so we went back to the hotel, had a bath and went directly to chinatown for dinner...

ppl there can speak more of chinese than english...

the sumptuous dinner...
(are u reading this glenn???)

bought some food for ppl at home

and not forgetting my LOVE!!!
MANGO STICKY RICE!!!!

DAY 4

is a full day of shopping...

went to the money changer to change more money to prepare ourselves...
btw, UOB in bangkok offers the best rate for sing dollars...

Pratunam Market!!!

caught lion dance there while shopping...

MBK...

popular tourist shopping centre. i feel its a littel over-rated since i bought nothing there...

crossed over to siam square and bought a few pretty tees...

continued to walk down to visit the 4 face buddha...

though i'm a free thinker, i almost convinced myself that i should be a buddhist..
there are really soooOoo many temples and buddha statues in thailand...

after bf and bf's mum prayed, we crossed on over to central world...

only i bought things there...
NARAYA!!! i like....

the bustling streets of bangkok...

after a day of shopping, we ended the day at patpong for dinner...
(not to catch tiger ok..... hahahhaha...)

pork cutlet

phad thai...

DAY 4

day 4 marks the last day of the trip. woke up a little later than usual, went for some last minute shopping, and ate at baiyoke sky hotel...

nice hotel, nice view of the city...

yummy yummy...

our final meal at bangkok...

good bye bangkok...
shall visit again. with my dear tata instead???

back at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

we went there with 3 bags, all more than half empty.

and we came back with 4 bags totally FULL...
and i conclude that bf's mum is a potential shopaholic too...

also, today marks the 4th year bf and i are together..
its a long long time and its not easy to come this far.

HAPPY 4TH ANNIVERSARY MY DEAR
*pls try not to bully me so much ok... because, sometimes it pisses me off big time*

i'm going to batam with bf nearing the end of this month.

anyone has any recommendations for massage, hotel, shopping, as well as must visit places in batam?? i tried searching online, but the various sites got me a little confused...

thanx in advance =)
