tomorrow is polling day...
and for the first time, i get to vote...
after reading so many comments and hearing so many stories to which i dont know what is true, what facts have been twisted or what really happened, i feel that basically, looking at the big picture, singapore is really doing fine..
looking at our neighbouring countries, i must say, i have to be contented.
i need not worry about riots like in thailand.
i need not worry about safety like in india.
i need not worry about wat kinda food i eat like in china.
i need not to worry about being treated unfairly like in malaysia.
i need not worry about alot of things...
no country is perfect.
and singapore is no different.
i meet people from all over the world, and they tell me how lucky i am.
primary and secondary education is subsidised.
university admission is based on ability and not by race.
cpf is implemented to force savings.
our police are not corrupted.
and our hospitals are so advanced here.
foreigners yearn so hard for a citizenship but we as citizens feels that its not enough.
look at the retail sector.
look at the hotel industry.
singaporeans dont wanna take on those lowly paid jobs with long working hours.
i'm no different. if no one does, who will?
i agree that there has to be more opposition seats in the parliment.
but ultimately, be thankful for what we have...
voicing out views is not wrong.
in fact i agree with some.
but dont make it seem like we have been suffering alot...
i guess, u know where my vote will go to.
